Add page numbers to a PDF free — in your browser, with no upload

Put page numbers exactly where you want them: any of six positions, as a plain number, “Page 3”, “3 / 12” or “Page 3 of 12”. Skip a cover page, start counting from any number, and set the font size and margin — then download.

Your files never leave your browser

Other PDF sites upload your document to a server, then cap how many files you can process or ask you to pay. This one does the work on your own device in plain JavaScript — nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and there is no daily limit. Use a tool once and it keeps working with no connection at all afterwards.

What you can do

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Set “start numbering on page” to 2 and the first page is left clean. You can also choose which number the counting begins at.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The numbers are drawn onto the pages in your browser and the file is handed straight back to you.

What if my document already has page numbers?

This adds a new number on top; it does not detect or replace existing ones. Choose a position that does not clash with what is already printed.

Can I continue numbering from another document?

Yes. Set the first number to whatever you need — for example 15, to continue a document that ended at 14.

Will the numbers cover my content?

They are placed in the margin, and you can adjust the margin distance and font size if your layout is tight.

Is it free?

Yes, completely — no account, no watermark and no limits.
