They read PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and SVG, and write PNG, JPG and WebP. AVIF is missing from the output list because browsers can read it but not write it — asked for one, Chrome quietly returns a PNG under an AVIF name, and shipping that would be dishonest.
